My mom and my sisters came to visit me over my birthday weekend. Which made me so happy, because we did some of my favorite things. With some of my favorite people.

ALCATRAZ ISLAND

Taking a ferry ride over to Alcatraz Island. We had such a gorgeous day when we visited!

Scenes around Alcatraz Island. I loved all the history and the pretty views.

The lighthouse on Alcatraz Island was the first lighthouse built on the West Coast.

I was surprised to find that  Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary was quite beautiful.

PALACE OF FINE ARTS

I’ve talked about my love for this magical place before. It’s even more beautiful in the springtime when these fluffy pink flowers are in bloom.

BON TEMPE LAKE

I took my family hiking in one of my favorite places.

There were wildflowers growing all around the lake.

And my goodness, those reflections.

Every time I hike this lake (about 1.5-2 hours), I feel so happy afterward.

Also, did I stumble upon the Tree of Life? I think so.

NAPA VALLEY

On the day of my birthday, we did the Champagne Vista Dome on the Napa Valley Wine Train. I can’t recommend this enough. It’s a little pricey, but the train has amazing views of wine country and great food (a four-course meal!).

It was rainy the day of, but we still had pretty views. Just imagine if it was sunny. I guess that just means I need to make a trip back soon! 😉
