If you missed my first post on places to check out while in the south of France, stop here and take a few minutes to read it now. Trust me, there are some goodies in there.

And now let’s continue our journey through the beautiful French Riviera.

First up? The Chateau de Nice (Castle of Nice). A maze of gardens, a waterfall, a pretty cemetery, and panoramic views of the city.

The entryway is a little hard to find, but once we find it, you’ll climb a few stone stairways to get up to the top. But don’t fret. The view from the top is worth it!

Definitely take some time to explore the area. We found a waterfall that looked like it was running off from an overhanging balcony. So cool!

We also found a cemetery that reminded me of what you might find in New Orleans. The buildings had beautiful pops of color that we couldn’t help but admire.

Looking for a fun day trip? Mark your map on the city of Èze and/or the Villa Ephrussi de Rothchild. Confession: We didn’t make it into the actual commune of Èze (we didn’t have enough time). But we did spend a little time right outside of the city waiting for the train.

We did, however, make it to Villa Ephrussi de Rothchild.

Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this beautiful pink villa is surrounded by gorgeous themed gardens (9 to be exact), Victorian interiors, and a synchronized fountain show that you can enjoy from the upper terrace of the villa.

I absolutely fell in love with this place. I mean, come on. Can I just stay here?

And last, but not least, if you have some time, make the train trip over to Monaco and Monte-Carlo. Even though it didn’t make the top of my list, I think it’s still a place that you have to check out while in the era. Because it really is a beautiful city. Yacht-lined harbors and all.

We checked out the Casino de Monte-Carlo and Hotel de Paris.

And the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, which is right on a seaside cliff. A gorgeous building with amazing views. Make sure to head over to the park that is next to the museum. It’s a lovely stroll that’s full of greenery, fountains, statues, and more!

Next stop: The Amalfi Coast.
