Oh, September. You were just what I needed. Especially since August was such a busy month with Madrona Manor and my trip to Guatemala. This much was at a much slower pace, with a few weeks to recoup, which was much needed! Then, the month closed with a bang. My weekend in Mendocino was a real treat, and something I’m looking forward to doing again in a couple of weeks.
So what did this month look like? Here’s a recap of some of my favorite moments from September. Enjoy!
September brought back all kinds of pretty skies and puffy clouds.
For work, each quarter we have what we call “Creativity Day”. It’s a day-off of work to try something new. For this round, I decided to take a cooking class at Sur La Table to test out some of their favorite kitchen tools.
I got to stay at the rustic Brewery Gulch Inn in Mendocino. It has the best view of the emerald Smuggler’s Cove (especially at sunset). More details here.
Skunk Train, anyone? I promise it doesn’t smell! It’s quite the opposite, actually, with mossy scents as you travel through the redwood forests near Fort Bragg. More details here.
Frolicked through all kinds of flora (and some fauna) at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. More details here.
Stopped at one of my favorite spots in Russian Gulch State Park to snap a photo of my favorite Mendocino coast view. More details here.
It’s about this time of year that I miss being at home (Minnesota) to see all the leaves changing color. Thankfully, we get little slices of fall in the city here and there.
September brought pretty skies, puffy clouds, and colorful sunsets. Get ready for my Instagram account to start blowing up with urban skylines at dusk.
Is it just me, or did September fly by? Can’t wait to share more weekend getaways and fall adventures with you in October!
Let’s go places,
