I recently created a roundup of my favorite cozy Minnesota cabins that I have been saving via an Airbnb wishlist for the past few years. And during that search, I found quite a few dreamy Wisconsin abodes that I added to a wishlist, so I wanted to share those finds with you, too.
From romantic cabin getaways, lakeside cottages, rustic log homes, and more, this curated list has all the quintessential cabin vibes for a long cozy weekend in Wisconsin. And similar to what I said in my Minnesota roundup, I’ll be sure to update this list as I work through booking stays at these unique cabins.
So let’s get to it. Here’s my curated roundup of Wisconsin cabins saved to my Airbnb wishlist.
Lil’ Kickback On Elk Creek – Elk Mound, Wisconsin

This rustic handmade log cabin nestles on a tranquil 5.8-acre property on the banks of Elk Creek. It feels a little bit like a flashback in time as the owners have tried to keep it authentic to its 1920s roots during restoration. But unlike the cabins of yesteryears, this one features concrete in-floor heat, a stone gas fireplace, all the kitchen appliances you could need, and a wood-heated porch.
If you’re looking for some fun activities during your stay, you don’t have to go far. Elk Creek is known as a class 1 trout stream, so fly fishing is just at your doorstep. Or, with the Chippewa River and Elk Lake nearby, there’s canoeing and kayaking, along with plenty of biking and hiking trails.

Walnut Creek Cabin – Ferryville, Wisconsin

In the heart of the Driftless area, this secluded cabin is among rolling hills and a bubbling brook, where you’re free to explore and enjoy the serene landscapes of the 10-acre property. It’s also close to the scenic Mississippi River and the Rush Creek State Nature Preserve, so there are plenty of options for outdoor activities nearby.
It might look like a rustic cabin from the outside, but inside it has more of a modern vibe with updated amenities and design. It includes a washer/dryer, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and lovely furnishings to make the place feel super cozy, especially next to the wood-burning fireplace. I also love all the black accents against the natural wood. It’s my kind of style!

Loon Lodge – Comstock, Wisconsin

This cedar-lined abode feels like the quintessential cabin in my mind. There’s so much cozy detail in every space that it exudes warmth and welcome. Like you’re coming home to your family cabin. I want to curl up next to the fireplace with hot cocoa and a board game, don’t you?
Speaking of games, the lower level of the cabin is a dedicated ‘game room” with a foosball table, darts, and a big screen TV, so it’s the perfect getaway spot to take the family. Another great feature is the screen porch overlooking the lake. Word on the street is that you feel like you’re in a treehouse when sitting up there.

The Water Villa – Richland Center, Wisconsin

This cozy two-story cabin got its name due to the lovely view of the small pond in the valley below, fed by the babbling Mill Creek. The host notes that wildlife often gathers here, so you’ll have to be on the lookout from those lovely big windows as you enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine on the balcony in the evening. The perfect spot for a romantic cabin getaway, I think!
The main floor is highlighted with reclaimed barn wood and features a king bed, seating area, and fireplace. The downstairs has a small kitchen, large bathroom, and doors that open to a patio with a fire pit and grill. What else could you need, right?

Glass House On Birch Bluff – Fish Creek, Wisconsin

This cute cottage was built in 1969 and is atop a private bluff of three acres in Fish Creek. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a long day exploring beautiful Door County. My favorite part of this charming cottage is the lovely pops of color throughout. Especially the green cabinetry in the kitchen!
Some features to note are the beautiful wrap-around deck, an electric fireplace for those cold months, and the cute decorations throughout the cottage. Plus, there are many trails nearby for hiking and cross-country skiing, which is always a plus in my book.

Hytte House – Colfax, Wisconsin

This lovely 1950s cottage nestles on the shores of Tainter Lake. With the term ‘hytte’ meaning cottage in Norwegian, this cabin pulls inspiration from the nordic region with its lofted ceilings, concrete floors, and wood stove. It also includes a screened-in porch which is perfect for mosquito-free summer nights.
It’s a quiet escape if you’re looking for some R&R, but it’s also close to well-known Wisconsin supper clubs, breweries, and more!

Retro Log Cabin – Ellison Bay, Wisconsin

This cozy log cabin offers all the modern luxuries you desire while maintaining a vintage change. Who doesn’t love that orange retro fridge in the kitchen? This charmer includes other unique features like a wood-burning fireplace, a lofted library, all the board games you could hope for, and picnic supplies. How cute is that!
The backyard is the perfect spot for a campfire. Make s’mores, tell stories, and stargaze with family and friends. Plus, during the day, the cabin gets a lot of wildlife visitors, including deer, squirrels, and a variety of birds. This quaint cabin is the perfect place to get away for a few days while being close to the hustle and bustle of Door County.

Madeline Island Beach Cottage – La Pointe, Wisconsin

This beachfront cottage has Lake Superior right at your front door. Literally! And if the lake access isn’t enough, the cabin interior has a 180-degree view of the water from the living room and kitchen area, making it the quintessential summer cabin getaway. The decor has a beachy vibe, but the cottage also makes for a cozy spot in the wintertime with its wood-burning fireplace.
