Wow, time flies when you’re having fun. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the reminder on my Google Calendar. Four years living in this beautiful city by the Bay.
I came out here for a job (which I’ll forever be thankful for), started another job, found an apartment in a neighborhood I really love, and explored beautiful places in and around the city. It’s started to feel like home and I’m always happy to come back after being gone for a period of time.
I laugh now thinking about this day back in 2014. I knew that I wanted to explore a new city, but it was terrifying to think about doing it on my own. Thankfully, I stuck to my guns and had the most supportive people around me. But that’s not to say that I was SO nervous boarding the plane with a one-way ticket. It was so permanent. I had packed up my beautiful (and big!) one bedroom apartment, sold my furniture and my car, and literally condensed my life to one weekender bag and a few boxes. I was excited, but there’s always that “what if I’m making the biggest mistake?” thought in the back of your head.
So what have I learned in the last four years? First and foremost, do things that scare you! Take risks! And trust your gut. Little did I know that moving out to San Francisco on my own would be one of the best decisions I’ve made. Things always seem scarier in your head then they are in real life. And even if it does turn out to be a disaster, at least you tried! Today, I’m so grateful to live in such a beautiful city, and I’ve met so many wonderful people along the way. 🙂
So, in honor of my San Fran-iversary (can I say that?), I thought I’d compile some of my favorite San Francisco photos for a roundup to commemorate my time spent. I start with some of the earliest photos and end with the more recent snaps. Enjoy!
There’s more! But a quick comment: It’s fun to see how my style has changed over time!
Don’t give up! You’re almost there, I promise! 🙂
And I thought I wasn’t going to have enough photos! 😉
I hope your fall in love with this beautiful city as much as I have. If you have any questions about where I specific photo was taken, definitely ask in the comment section below.
Let’s go places,

A truly beautiful series, Sarah, thanks for sharing! How lucky are you to live in this awesome city (I at least managed 3 months in Oakland, many years ago). Marcus
Thank you, Marcus! I feel so grateful to live in this city, and always happy to share it with others! 🙂
